Mining Hydraulic Components

Mining hydraulics face three villains: dust that packs into every cavity, vibration that shakes lines loose, and pressure spikes that hammer standard couplers into scrap. And when a $50 coupler fails at a remote site, it idles a $2 million machine while you wait on parts.

PCI Hydraulics+ stocks the mining hydraulic components engineered for exactly this abuse. High-pressure couplers rated from roughly 5,000 PSI on the VVP and PVEP screw-together series up to 17,000 PSI on the PVV Series poppet type, flush-face couplers that give dust nothing to grab, heavy-series DIN 3015 clamps that hold lines through the shaking. Stocked deep, covered by a full one-year warranty, and shipped same day from Solon, Ohio since 1985. Mining is where that speed earns its keep.

What mining equipment demands from its hydraulic components

Whether you run a surface pit or underground sections, the failure modes repeat.

Abrasive dust packs into coupler faces. Standard couplers have cavities that fill with rock dust, and every connection grinds that grit into your hydraulic system. Contamination becomes pump and valve failures downstream.

Pressure spikes and vibration brinell ball-lock couplers. Rock breakers and drill rigs send impulse loads through the circuit that dent the locking balls' race in conventional couplers. Once brinelled, the coupler leaks, sticks, and fails.

Rough handling is the baseline. Couplers get dragged, dropped, and hammered. Delicate components do not survive the first shift.

Remote sites amplify every failure. A part that dies three hours from town stops production, not just a machine.

Add trapped thermal pressure on parked attachments, and your maintenance plan needs answers for all of it.

Mining Hydraulic Components We Stock

Screw-to-connect high-pressure couplers (VVP, PVEP, PVV, PC35 Series)

The lead item for rock breakers, hammers, and drill rigs. These couplers thread together instead of relying on locking balls, so there is no ball race to brinell when impulse loads slam through the circuit. Rated by series from roughly 5,000 PSI up to 17,000 PSI on the PVV poppet type, they hold through the pressure spikes and vibration that kill conventional quick disconnects. If you keep replacing couplers on a breaker circuit, this is the permanent fix.

Flush-face ISO 16028 couplers (FF, FF90, and 3FF Series)

A flat face gives dust nothing to pack into, which is the whole argument in one sentence. FF and FF90 Series couplers make clean, no-drip connections on LHD loaders and excavator attachment circuits, keeping abrasive grit out of your oil. The 3FF Series connects under pressure up to 3,000 PSI (size-dependent), so when a parked attachment has been baking in the sun and holds trapped thermal pressure, you still hook up in seconds instead of bleeding the circuit.

Heavy-series DIN 3015 clamps

Vibration is the slow killer of mine-site plumbing. Heavy-series DIN 3015 clamps lock tube and hose runs in place on drill rigs, roof supports, and wash plants, stopping the chafe and fatigue that turn into burst lines. They are cheap insurance you appreciate most after the first failure they prevent.

Diagnostics: test kits, test points, and liquid-filled gauges

HPTK test kits and H900 test points let your mechanics read live pressures on running equipment, at the face or in the shop, without cracking fittings. PCLG liquid-filled gauges matter here specifically: the liquid fill damps needle vibration, so gauges stay readable and survive on machines that never stop shaking.

Check valves and isolation ball valves (VU, HSP, BKH, SKH Series)

VU and HSP check valves protect lube truck and wash plant circuits from reverse flow, while BKH and SKH high-pressure ball valves give your crews reliable isolation points for service work. One order covers the whole circuit.

Standards & certifications

Our mining-relevant lines are built to recognized standards: ISO 16028 for flush-face couplers, DIN 3015 for tube and hose clamps, and M16x2 test points with Stauff and Parker interchange for diagnostic connections. High-pressure coupler ratings vary by series and valve type, from roughly 5,000 PSI up to 17,000 PSI on the PVV poppet type, with ratings published on every product page so your components match the duty cycle, not just the thread.

Why buy from PCI Hydraulics+

A mine that is down does not care about lead times, and neither do we. PCI has shipped same day from Solon, Ohio since 1985, with deep inventory on the shelf across couplers, valves, diagnostics, and clamps, and when a job calls for something outside that range, our sourcing reaches far past our own shelves. Every part carries a full one-year warranty. And when the order is strange, urgent, or both, you get a person at 800-322-9527 who has heard it before. Speed and straight answers matter most when a machine is down, and that is when we do our best work.

Distributors and OEMs

Frequently asked questions

Why do screw-to-connect couplers outlast ball-lock couplers on breakers?

Impulse loads from rock breakers dent (brinell) the ball race in conventional couplers, causing leaks and sticking. Screw-to-connect couplers thread together with no ball race to damage, so they absorb pressure spikes and vibration that would destroy a standard quick disconnect.

What pressure ratings do your mining couplers carry?

High-pressure series are rated up to 17,000 PSI depending on series and valve type: VVP to 5,075 PSI, PVEP to 5,500 PSI, PVV ball type and PC35 to 10,000 PSI, and PVV poppet type to 17,000 PSI. Flush-face ISO 16028 couplers cover typical attachment circuit pressures. Ratings by size are listed on every product page, and we will confirm any application at 800-322-9527.

Can you ship to support a down machine at a remote site?

Yes. Orders placed by the daily cutoff ship same day from Solon, Ohio, and we will work with you on the fastest routing to your site. When a $2 million machine is idle, tell us the deadline and we will chase it.

What warranty covers components in severe mining service?

Every PCI component carries a full one-year warranty.
